Hi Nola. I loved Harry Chapin's 'Cats in the Cradle' and Dan Fogelberg's songs. Song writers and poets seem to know how to put things so much more succinctly than those of us who are caught up with words. Thanks for the links to the ones you've mentioned. Must watch.
Yes, 'Cat's in the Cradle' is a great example of an entire story arc. While preparing this blog, I had a huge list that I tried to whittle down, but thought I'd stick with my female folkie faves. You could pick out almost any Joni Mitchell song and it tells a story. Will have to do another post at some point on 'Melodic Men of Metaphor' :) I think I had a Dan Fogelberg album at one stage.
