A Place of Springs

Blessed are those on pilgrimage
Passing through their desert times
They see the wilderness transformed
As pools of rain refresh their hearts.

Passing through their desert times
They focus on the waiting prize
Frail feet are strengthened as they go

They see the wilderness transformed
From barrenness and shifting sand
To wonderlands of bud and bloom

As pools of rain refresh their hearts
Joy bubbles like a spring and then
It overflows at journey’s end.
